Nissan Cube Augemented Reality Demo

Ah! the Nissan Cube AR demo! Actually the application is fast compared to other apps. [realized when the recording went much smoother...] and the markers especially are not the usual ".patt" type [:P]. The Nissan Cube brochures themselves serve as markers for this program. The application and the marker are available for download from the total immersion site [links below].
I just love the part when the car pops up [:)]. So ahead and enjoy !!

Lamborghini Concept S Demo using Google Sketch up

Alrite .... Decided to make a demo myself and the result is the video below :D. The 3D model actually a Lamborghini Gallardo, which i had to modify using some of the pics i had of Concept S. The rendering was done in Google Sketch-up. I used the AR media plugin to augment the 3d model [ 25 seconds per session in trial version >:( ]. Unfortunately the Desktop recoder was slow to grasp the fine movements.

Microsoft Xbox Project Natal

Ok! So Microsoft decided to take on the Nintendo Wii. Microsoft's Xbox based Project Natal seems the answer. I also learnt that Johnny C.Lee was helping them develop this. The video below is from E3 2009 Expo and some are Official demonstration videos. Im happy that Xbox is using stereoscopic tracking. And when I watched the demos, it seemed that the actors are trying to mimic the character on screen rather than the character reacting to the user movements (Latency issues of tracking? May be..). However it works and well done !!
